– For a softer fedora, steam for 30 – 60 seconds
Please avoid pro-longed periods of sun exposure to your hat to avoid colour fade to wool.
How do I place an order?
To place an order, head to our ‘SHOP’ tab on the left hand side of your browser. Then click the item you wish to purchase. This will open a new window and you will able to select your size (please refer to ‘SIZING’ tab to ensure you order the correct size). Click the ‘Add to Cart’ option. On the top right hand side of your webpage a small box should pop up, displaying your carts contents. You can then click ‘Proceed to Checkout’ (if you have finished your order). From there, the webstore will ask for all relevant details which will need to be filled out in order to make an account and check out.
How do I make payment?
Lack of Color accepts payment via credit card, direct bank transfer and PayPal.
Payment can be made via direct bank transfer. Please note if making payment via direct bank transfer, this make take 2-3 business days to clear into our account. Items will not be shipped until we receive full payment into our account. If you wish to receive your item faster, it is best to email us a screenshot of payment to email@example.com so that our team can start your order and dispatch it as quickly as possible.
How do I make an account?
To make account you must first put the items in your cart that you wish to purchase by following the above steps. Once this is completed and you proceed to checkout, you will be given the opportunity to create your account. You must create an account to place an order. By making an account you can access previous orders at any time. You can also access your tracking number once your order has been shipped so that you can track its journey.
How do I make sure I order the right size hat for me?
Please make sure you order the right sized fedora for YOU. Lack of Color does not offer returns for incorrect sizing and we strongly recommend that each customer measure their head before purchasing to ensure they are purchasing the correct sized hat. Just like shoe and clothing sizes, everyone has a unique size and shaped head and we offer a range of sizes to accommodate this. My hat doesn’t quite fit the way I’d like it to, what do I do?
If you receive your beautiful new Lack of Color hat and it doesn’t quite fit the way you would like it to, please do not hesitate to email our customer care team at firstname.lastname@example.org. A suggestion for customers whose hats are a little too big is to order a hat filler directly from our site on the ‘SHOP’ page. Our hat fillers reduce the size of your hat by 1-2.5 cms and are perfect when you need a firmer fitting hat. All return postage costs are to be covered by the customer.
How long does domestic (Australian) postage take?
We use the express service with StarTrack on all Australian orders and this is the postage and handling cost that is charged at the time of checkout. Please allow up to 1-3 days handling time for your order. Orders are usually dispatched the next day after your order is received depending on the volume of orders we may experience at the current time.
Once your order has been dispatched, you will automatically be emailed a tracking number via the StarTrack Track & Trace service. You will also receive a completed email from Lack of Color. If you have not received your StarTrack tracking email, please check your ‘junk’ folder. How long does international postage take?
For international orders we use the International E-Parcel service that is offered with Australia Post.
We offer two postage options when checking out.
Lack of Color offers a Regular 7-14 Business Day service to all international countries.
This option for international orders to most countries usually takes around 7-14 business days from dispatch date. Due to customs and other factors outside of our control, orders may take longer to arrive. Lack of Color will not be held responsible for any delays that may occur.
Lack of Color also offers an Express 3-6 Business Day service to all international countries at varied rates. Rates vary per Zones (set by Australia Post).

Prices for the international shipping options, for each Country can be calculated at check-out before payment is made to give you an indication of the cost. To do this, click the ‘Calculate Shipping’ button under your cart total at the check-out page. A list of countries will display. Select your destination country and click ‘Update Totals’ for your shipping cost.
